Lost: The Complete 1st Season review

Posted : 13 years, 11 months ago on 17 May 2010 11:14 (A review of Lost: The Complete 1st Season)

Lost as you may know is based on a group of people who survived a plane crash onto a unknown island in the Pacific Ocean. At first it seems that it will be a simple case of them being rescued shortly after the crash but as time goes on many strange events happen creating many questions and mysteries. Season 1 deals with the events of the first few weeks after the crash, introducing you to the main characters in the show and some of their islandโ€™s secrets. The main characters have a story and you learn their background using a series of flashbacks. On the island they discover strange noises, creatures and that they are not alone. Lost will get you hooked on the first episode and keep you interested the entire time. If you havenโ€™t seen it yet then now is the time.

Prison Break: The Final Break review

Posted : 13 years, 11 months ago on 17 May 2010 11:13 (A review of Prison Break: The Final Break)

I have mixed feelings about this one. As a avid fan of the series it was great to see the events between the exoneration and the final scenes where we see Micheal's headstone. However this was my least favourites of any of the Prison Break episodes. The Final Break seemed rushed and you did not have the time to grow with the characters as you did in the other seasons. This is caused to the fact that it is like a whole season squeezed into a 2 hour show. I am not saying that the Final Break was horrible but it was simply not as good as the previous seasons. If you are a fan of the series and want to see the events in this disc then it is worth watching but don't expect the theatrics from the earlier seasons.

Prison Break: Season Four review

Posted : 13 years, 11 months ago on 17 May 2010 11:12 (A review of Prison Break: Season Four)

As the show drags on into season 4 one would think there is not much more that can be done to keep the series alive and interesting. The first couple of episodes do not do much to bolster your interest. However after the first couple of episodes get you filled in on the storyline you are hooked and you are at the edge of your seat waiting to see what happens next. The season wraps up everything well and keeps the action happening until the last moment. If you are a prison break fan you need to check this out and see how it all plays out!

Prison Break - Season Three review

Posted : 13 years, 11 months ago on 17 May 2010 11:10 (A review of Prison Break - Season Three)

The third season was not as fresh and entertaining as the first two however it was still quite enjoyable. The storyline is deeper in this season and you need to pay close attention to the storyline so you don't get confused. Several of the "Fox River 8" and their pursuers are placed in Sona, which is like the Alcatraz of Panama. Their task is to break out of this facility but it will be no easy task. The series is well worth watching but don't be disappointed if it isn't up to par with the first two seasons.

Prison Break: Season Two review

Posted : 13 years, 11 months ago on 17 May 2010 11:09 (A review of Prison Break: Season Two)

Season 2 follows the escaped convicts as they flee the prison and try and elude capture. Many of them try and go after the buried treasure that is somewhere in rural Utah. There are many twists in the plot and even the best laid plans by the convicts get dashed as they try and stay away from the authorities. This season was not quite as good as the first but was still excellent. The series continues to entertain and is definitely worth watching.

Prison Break: Season One review

Posted : 13 years, 11 months ago on 17 May 2010 11:08 (A review of Prison Break: Season One)

This is one of the finest, and most entertaining programs ever to grace our TV screens. Prison Break is based on the story of Michael Scofield who gets himself incarcerated to help break his brother who is on death row for a crime he did not commit. Along the way he encounters different problems and has to enlist the help of other prisoners to complete the breakout. The series keeps moving at a rapid pace and keeps you interested the entire time. There are several times you think they have succeeded but encounter another problem that prevents them from escaping. If you haven't seen Prison Break then you need to see it Today!!!!

Joy Ride 2: Dead Ahead review

Posted : 13 years, 11 months ago on 12 May 2010 11:24 (A review of Joy Ride 2: Dead Ahead)

The story starts as four teenagers, on their way to Las Vegas break down in the desert and search for help. They come across an abandoned house with a operational car in the barn. In desperation they take the car, leaving a note in case the owner comes home. The owner of the car is none other than "Rusty Nail" who is the infamous trucker who mercilessly kills those who upset him. The movie takes a different line to the previous movie which makes a more enjoyable experience. Instead of the victims running from Rusty Nail like the first movie, they are lead on a game that will result in them being let go if they win. There is plenty of action and suspense in the movie and is nail biting to the end. Joy Ride 2 continues on the series in a positive way and will be enjoyed by anyone who enjoys thrillers/horror or the first Joy Ride movie.

Vacancy review

Posted : 13 years, 11 months ago on 12 May 2010 01:51 (A review of Vacancy)

Vacancy is a spine chilling movie about a young couple who are attacked while staying in a hotel room. The basic plot is nothing original but it works for this movie. The basic story goes like this: Car breaks down in small town at night, and the only choice they have is to stay in a dingy hotel, which is the only one in town. The couple then discover recording equipment and VHS tapes that show brutal attacks that occurred in their room. Shortly afterward that are loud noises and people come out of the darkness to attack them and they have to fight for their lives. The movie was entertaining and was suspenseful the entire time. There was very little blood or gore in the movie and was more suspense and the characters trying to get away. This movie would be suitable for anyone that enjoys thrillers or horror movies, but if you are looking for a blood-fest this will probably disappoint you.

Couples Retreat review

Posted : 13 years, 11 months ago on 12 May 2010 01:50 (A review of Couples Retreat)

Couples Retreat is about four couple who go to a island resort to vacation. One of the couples Dave (Vince Vaughn) and Cynthia (Kristin Bell) is there to fix their marriage and convinces three other couples to join them on the island vacation, promising them good times. However when they get there they discover they are forced to particpate in therapy sessions and other mandatory events even against their will. I intially had doubts about this movie being any good but was hopeful that it would be better than average. Sadly the movie was just average, watchable but by no means memorable. It was not terrible by any means but not one I would rent or watch again. The plot was flat and the storyline did very little to keep your interest. I did watch the entire movie but it was a struggle at times. If you enjoy rom-coms you may like this one more than I did, otherwise your time may be better spent elsewhere.
